With the Iowa caucuses in the rearview, Republican candidates this week turned their focus to New Hampshire, where voters will cast ballots Tuesday in the nation’s first primary.
Former president Donald Trump, former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis appeared at events all over the state to win support, with Trump opting for his usual large-scale rallies and the other candidates mixing stump speeches with retail stops.

The Granite State defied a shake-up of the Democratic Party’s nominating calendar — which made South Carolina the first primary state as a way to provide greater racial, geographic and economic diversity to the process — so President Biden will not appear on the ballot in New Hampshire.
Democratic officials in the state spearheaded a write-in campaign to help defeat Biden’s primary challenger Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.), who has spent a good deal of time campaigning there.
